JOBS

  Software Engineer

Local Government Solutions is a leading provider of integrated browser solutions for county government officials.   Serving customers all over the State of Texas we give our technical staff the ability to be involved in all aspects of our product development and customer services.   

We are currently looking for Application Developers to join our development teams in one of our two development centers.   

Summary

As a Application Developer you will have the opportunity to develop new application software, evaluate and enhance existing product functionality, assist in code analysis to increase performance, and have the ability to help expand the utilization of technology in County Government.

Duties and Responsibilities:

§    Collaborate with Project Manager, Business Analysts and users on the design of solutions on the implementation of different IT projects.

§    Define specifications for software programming applications, develop the required code, test to meet required functionality, debug for errors and provide technical documentation for implementation of user requirements.

§    Responsible for delivery of code to meet the business needs on a timely basis.

§    Maintaining/fixing, testing, and deploying of one or more enterprise applications to meet the organization's on-going information needs

§    Contribute to design and code reviews, regression testing, documentation, and QA to ensure top-quality software.


Education/Training/Experience:

§    Associate Degree or other 2 year degree in programming, 3 years experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

§    Experience in Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, and Java Script programming

§    Excellent analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities

  Domain Specialist

We are currently looking for Domain Specialist to join our development teams in one of our two development centers.   

Summary

As a Domain Specialist you will gather user information key to the design, development and deployment of software releases by gathering requirements and analyzing feedback from our users.  You will design training classes, update user manuals, and assist in the deployment of new software releases to our growing user base.   You must possess the ability to work with people and have the ability to analyze workflows and data flow.   Successful candidates will have the ability to move into other positions including marketing, sales,  training, or technical support.  If you have worked in County Government this is a great opportunity to have great benefits and expand your professional career.

Duties and Responsibilities:

§    Collaborate with users on their needs and requirements.

§    Document software terms in a manner that is easily understood by persons of limited computer skill.

§    Responsible for delivery of new training course materials.

§    Development of training programs for county employees in our Houston and Dallas offices.


Education/Training/Experience:

§    High School Diploma - required,  College Education helpful

§    2 years experience in county government - prefer county clerk, district clerk, or prosecutors offices.

§    Willing to travel in Texas with some overnight stays during installations.
